Do not waste your $$ on this book. It is terrible! All those reviews saying it was laugh out loud funny had to be fake. I read about 2 books a week and only leave reviews if I loved a book or really hated it. I could only make it thru 17% of this book and that took me weeks. I have only ever given up on a book once before because it was so bad. There was nothing funny about what I read. The characters were all unlikeable and the dialogue was terrible & ridiculous. The H called the h a B*T*H over and over again. The h was a total B*T*H and completely manipulative. I was just disgusted in this book. I’m not a big fan of the H & h starting out hating each other but there is a way to write those stories to make you still like the characters but this was not it.Tags : Why Romeo Hates Juliet: A Laugh Out Loud Romantic Comedy - Kindle edition by Anna Mara. Why Romeo Hates Juliet A Laugh Out Loud Romantic Comedy edition by Anna Mara Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews
I got this book when it was offered free on and I have to say I was surprised by it. While it's a longish book I found it easy to get into and quick to read. Juliet and her sister Sarah go to Sarah's in laws house for some much needed qiet so that Juliet can get her writing mojo back.
Little do they know the house next door is owned by a raucous movie star Romeo Boyd, and he arrives with his noisy friends and a couple of stereo type Hollywood chicks. That's when the fun begins. The first half of the book is hilarious, I loved the scene where Juliet goes over to confront Romeo over the noise and horrid way Sarah had been treat and Romeo thought she was the stripper! I cried laughing. I also really enjoyed the building love story and them falling in love (though not admitting it to themselves) I thought the wedding was hilarious.
What I struggled with a little is that it did need some work with the grammar and I'm not to sure in this day and age that someone would leave a man they loved deeply to allow another woman who says she has a claim (not spoiling) on him and live with such heartbreak.
But the story was quirky and cute and fun to read. If you like light hearted good humor this is the book for you
Funniest book ever! I don't think I've ever laughed so much out loud while reading a book. Buy this book. You won't be disappointed. I promise! From the moment they meet it's a wild-assed roller coaster ride and you'd better hold on tight. The exploits of Romeo and Juliet are so outrageous and over the top from the moment he mistakes her as a stripper, or when she accidentally shoots him, to when he fakes amnesia, and she plans a fake wedding....Oh what a tangled web we weave!
This book is an absolute joy to read, from beginning to epilogue. How could you not love Romeo? Or feel Juliet's angst and support her shenanigans? The fault in their stars is too much of an imagination in devising one-upmanship ploys against one another and an unwillingness to be truthful. The fact that every one of the duplicitous plots backfired on this star-crossed couple results in more hilarity, more scheming, and a richer story. As Juliet says to Romeo at one point in the book, "The truth shall set you free." And truth is what prevailed and brings these two their happy ever after.
This book contains really poor grammar at times with improper use of her vs. she and I vs. me. Even with that, it's an entertaining romantic comedy. It really should be made into a movie.
Let’s add some more exclamation points! To make the story seem like far more interesting than it really is!
H is a washed up actor with his entourage, and h is a writer trying to write a book. They’re temporary neighbors, and the big “tension” is that he plays loud music and she hasn’t figured out how noise-canceling headphones work (or maybe is unaware they exist). From there, the H, h, entourage, and the h’s sister behave like selfish 10-year old kids. Maybe 8. But, the boys hire strippers and think it’s ok to manhandle them. The h then acts like it’s his fault she pushed him into something, injuring him.
At 2%, it was tough to keep reading. I kept thinking the book had to have some redeeming qualities, but it just kept being absurdly childish people with lots of money and few clues about how adults function in the world. When I realized that these two were really too selfish for me to care about them, I was happy to leave them in jail (regardless of what the author did with them).
