I had heard about The Friendship Train through my mother's Quester's group. I had never heard about it before so was interested. When I searched on-line, this was the only book I could find about the Friendship Train. I actually ordered this book thinking my book club would like learning about the Friendship Train as we all enjoy historical fiction and most had never heard about the train either. It was a good book, but clearly written for children with it's story line. I think children would enjoy it, and also enjoy learning about the Friendship Train. I wish SOMEONE would write a historical fiction book telling more about the Friendship Train for adults as I think they'd enjoy it as well...interesting history.Product details

The Friendship Train edition by Linda Baten Johnson Children eBooks Reviews
interesting quick read
This is an excellent, enjoyable way to learn history; it was told in a believeable way.
This book has it all - excellent plot, intriguing characters, mystery and excitement. Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. The author researched very thoroughly and presented the historical information in a very entertaining way. I purchased two copies - for myself and my grandsons.
I certainly enjoyed reading this book! It held my attention to the very end. I would love to read more from this author!
IN GOD'S SERVICE,
~BR0THER BOB~
Very interesting true story from WWII.
I read this book in advance of giving it to my granddaughter, but I have to admit that as an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed it! It took me back to my days as a young reader. I remember how much I loved stories that put children (who were about my same age) into adult situations, and then showed how they were capable of solving those particular problems. I found them very empowering as a young reader, and know that "The Friendship Train" will do the same for this generation. The characters are likeable, the situation is intriguing, and the history lesson is invaluable.
Enjoyed this true narrative; the author did a great job of researching the time period to write her book. She used all the common phrases of
the time period. I appreciated the authenticity and naivety of the main character; and have already recommended this story to another book club.
